The Internal Audit Practitioner designation offers you support as your take your first step toward becoming professionally qualified and provides access to the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor). You will be introduced to the core elements of the International Professional Practices Framework and the International Standards.
Upon completion you may enter the CIA. You must register for the CIA within three years of achieving Internal Audit Practitioner designation.
The Internal Audit Practitioner designation is not designed to be held indefinitely and will expire after three years. During these three years no continuing professional education (CPE) is required.

There are no education or experience requirements.
If you hold an undergraduate degree, you may wish to consider direct entry to the CIA qualification.
The virtual classes are done on Webex Events or Webex Meetings. If you are using a phone or tablet device, then you can download the free software.

The syllabus for the Internal Audit Practitioner designation is divided into five syllabus domains, each dealing with a set of standards :
– Internal Audit Attributes (IIA Standard 1000, 1100, 1200)
– Nature of work (IIA Standard 2100)
– Engagement planning (IIA Standard 2200)
– Engagement work (IIA Standard 2300)
– Engagement communication (IIA Standard 2400)
Eight week course : 20 hours
Virtual classes : 10 hours
Reading and self-study : 10 hours
Revision and exam : 10 hours
Total expected study hours : 50 hours
Online learning programme
We can support you as you study towards the Internal Audit Practitioner designation by offering a comprehensive blended learning programme, with learning outcomes to be achieved each week. The content was written especially for the designation and addresses all the syllabus areas. The total notional hours are between 40 and 60, which includes all your classes, reading, revision as well as the actual exam on the day.
Online Learning Program
The eight-week programme includes the following:
Five two-hour virtual classes
Reading and self-study
Revision and exam
Forums that will allow you to interact with your tutor and fellow students
Access to all Chartered IIA and IIA Global online resources and publications
All materials will be accessible up to six months after course completion
You can sit the exam as soon as you have finished the eight-week learning programme
The duration of the exam is two hours and consists of 100 multiple choice questions
You will have six months (180 days) to take the exam from the time of registration.
Chartered IIA UK/Ireland will register you for for the online learning programme and
initiate registration for the qualification
and exam with IIA Global.
